Program Description

Event Details

Each month we discuss a book which the group has chosen at the end of the previous year.

In August 2026 we will discuss Queens of Crime by Marie Benedict.

London, 1930. The five greatest women crime writers have banded together to form a secret society with a single goal: to outdo their male counterparts in the legendary "Detection Club". Led by the formidable Dorothy L. Sayers, the group includes Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham and Baroness Emma Orczy. Their plan? Solve an actual murder, that of a young woman found strangled in a park in France who may have connections leading to the highest levels of the British establishment.

At Books for Breakfast we try to have coffee and tea available, usually one of the members brings a snack or treat, based on a schedule we create at an earlier meeting. The food & coffee is incidental to the book discussion.
