Each month we discuss a mystery book. Our August 2022 discussion will be on The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins.

The Woman in White is one of the earliest works of 'detective' fiction. With a narrative woven together from multiple characters, Wilkie Collins partly based his infamous novel on a real-life eighteenth-century case of abduction and wrongful imprisonment. In 1859, the story caused a sensation with its readers. Chilling, suspenseful and tense in mood, the novel remains as emotive for its readers today as, when it was first published.

The Woman in White is available on Hoopla and Overdrive as an ebook with no limits on how many people can borrow it, so please use the ebook option if you can. If you must have the Print book, please register for this event and indicate "Print book needed", and Julia will make sure you get a copy. The e-audiobook is unlimited on Hoopla, and one copy is available on Overdrive. If you want to listen to it but have not used Hoopla before, please register for this event and indicate "Have Julia contact me" when you register.

Next month's book (September) will be available to borrow at the Circulation Desk by this August's meeting date.
