Each month we discuss a mystery book on the second Thursday morning.

Our July book is Resurrection Walk by Michael Connelly.

Defense attorney Micky Haller (the Lincoln Lawyer) got a verdict overturned for an inmate imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. Because of that, he is inundated with pleas from incarcerated people, all claiming their innocence. Haller enlists the help of ex-LAPD detective Harry Bosch to find the next case which could result in another "resurrection walk" (exoneration). The case they take on is Lucinda Sanz, imprisoned five years ago for the murder of her husband, a Sheriff’s Deputy.  It becomes a very complex court case. The deeper they look, the more innocent their client looks. But there are people out there who want this case to stay closed, and will do anything to keep it that way.

One reader said this is one of the few books that provides "both a believable criminal investigation and a well toned legal thriller".  (Goodreads review: Mandy White (mandylovestoread)

The book will be available to borrow at the Circulation Desk, usually by the previous month's meeting. For example, this July book will be available upon request at the Circulation Desk between the June meeting and this July 10th meeting.
