Each month we discuss a mystery book on the second Thursday morning.

In July 2023 we will discuss The Madness of Crowds by Louise Penny.

While Québec residents take advantage of the deep snow, Chief Inspector Gamache's family holiday is interrupted when he’s asked to provide security for a visiting Professor of Statistics' lecture. It sounds easy enough, until Gamache starts looking into Professor Abigail Robinson and discovers an agenda so repulsive he begs the university to cancel the lecture. They refuse, citing academic freedom, and accuse Gamache of censorship and intellectual cowardice. Before long, Professor Robinson’s views start seeping into conversations. Spreading and infecting. Discussions become debates, debates become arguments, which turn into fights. As sides are declared, a madness takes hold.

The book will be available to borrow at the Circulation Desk, usually by the previous month's meeting. For example, the April book will be available upon request at the Circulation Desk between the March meeting and the date of the April meeting.
