The Brown Bag Book Club is designed to let you join in on your lunch break to discuss an eclectic mix of reads.

This month we will be revisiting a classic, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and reading an adaptation, Longbourn by Jo Baker.

About Pride and Prejudice: "The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England." (GoodReads)

About Longbourn: "In this irresistibly imagined below stairs answer to Pride and Prejudice, the servants take center stage. Sarah, the orphaned housemaid, spends her days scrubbing the laundry, polishing the floors, and emptying the chamber pots for the Bennet household. But there is just as much romance, heartbreak, and intrigue downstairs at Longbourn as there is upstairs. Jo Baker dares to take us beyond the drawing rooms of Jane Austen’s classic and, in doing so, creates a vivid, fascinating, fully realized world that is wholly her own. " (GoodReads)
