Books for Breakfast meets on the 3rd Tuesday every month at 9:30 am.

We are currently meeting by both Zoom and In Person. Please indicate which way you plan to attend!

In March 2024 (Women's History Month) we will discuss Dinners With Ruth by Nina Totenberg - Years before Nina Totenberg was hired by NPR (National Public Radio), even longer before Ruth Bader Ginsburg became a Supreme Court Justice, reporter Nina called Ruth asking about Ruth’s current brief, asking the Supreme Court to declare a law that discriminated “on the basis of sex” to be unconstitutional. That call launched a remarkable, nearly fifty-year friendship between two very different "movers and shakers" in Washington, DC. During Ruth’s last year, they shared so many small dinners that Saturdays were “reserved for Ruth” in Nina’s house. Filled with accounts of Nina's NPR colleagues and legal professionals she knew and covered as a reporter, this book is a moving story of the joy and true meaning of friendship.

For people who attend the group regularly, a hold will be placed for you each month in time for the next month's book to arrive by our meeting date. If you are not a regular attender, please place a hold yourself or contact the library to place the hold for you.
