This training is intended to assist parents, family members, and Educational Organizations (EOs) in understanding the special education process delineated in educational laws and regulations; knowing the roles and responsibilities of the various members of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE), particularly that of the Parent Member; and learning the techniques and strategies that are necessary for becoming an active CPSE and CSE meetings.

Target Audiences: Family members who are interested in becoming or who are already a CPSE and/or CSE Parent Member. Additionally, Special education administrators, special education and general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related services professionals, transition specialists, school counselors, agency/community service providers, and CPSE Chairpersons, may attend to better understand the parent member’s role.
